Following a Master's degree in Engineering, for many years he was involved in research in the field of photonics, the science that deals with the mechanisms for controlling the propagation of light.
His passion for photography emerged at a young age and developed over the years, not least through his participation in several workshops held by internationally renowned photographers.
Meli’s most notable solo and group exhibitions include those with galleries Made4Art, Milano; Biffi Arte, Piacenza; Spaziofarini6, Milano; Scoglio di Quarto, Milano; InArte Werkkunst gallery, Berlin; Officina d’Arte Bonci, Pietrasanta (LU); Fotografia Europea, Reggio Emilia; EPS Factory, Bologna; MiranoFotografia (VE) and Biblioteca Cascina Grande, Rozzano (MI).
He has shown his work at several editions of the Milan Photofestival and numerous art and photography fairs, including MIA fair, Milano; Fotofever, Paris; WOPArt, Lugano; Photo Basel, Basel.
Between 2012 and 2025, several of his photographs were exhibited and received special mentions in the context of various photography and art events in Italy and abroad.
His work has been published or reviewed in numerous magazines and newspapers.
Some of his work also features in the volume DREAMLANDS – luoghi dell’altrove, ISP, 2021.
His books Effetto nottetempo (2017) and InVisibilia (2023) were published by Gente di Fotografia Edizioni.
